N.H. Man Wins Reality Gold In 'Big Brother'
CONCORD, N.H. (CBS4) ―
Cheers in Concord, NH had its TV sets tuned to CBS, for the season finale of Big Brother: All Stars. That's where friends and family watched hometown favorite Mike "Boogie" Malin win the $500,000 prize in Tuesday night's finale.
Malin - known simply as "Boogie" to his friends - has endured ten weeks of the reality competition, which had 20 contestants from previous seasons live in seclusion from the outside world. As one of the two finalists, he was guaranteed at least the $50,000 second prize.
The 36-year-old Concord High School graduate has been showing off his New Hampshire pride all season long, frequently wearing clothing emblazoned with "603." He has already won $15,000 during the show, as well as a trip to Aruba and a convertible he said he would give to his mother.
Malin now lives in Los Angeles, where he is part of a group that owns four restaurants. But he still cheers for the hometown teams: his Big Brother profile lists his favorite sports teams as the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots.
To add to the finale's drama, Malin was up against 36-year-old Erika Landin, with whom he had a in-show romance for much of the season.
