Driver, Passenger Killed In Single-Car Accident
Police: Speed Appears To Be Factor
BOSTON (CBS4) ―
Two people were killed during a single vehicle car accident in Dover early Sunday morning.
The driver, Douglas Foreman, 43, of Chestnut Street in Needham and one passenger, the vehicle owner, Heather McNeil Piersiak, 41, also of Chestnut Street were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at their respective medical facilities. Foreman was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham and Piersiak was taken to Metro-West Medical Center in Natick.
The car, a 2006 Audi sedan, reportedly crashed into a stone wall on Dedham Street. Police said it appeared that the vehicle was heading south on Mill Street and continued across Dedham Street, colliding with the stone wall in a head-on fashion.
Police said the car had extensive front-end damage and appeared to be a total loss.
The accident is being investigated by the Dover Police Department and a reconstruction team from the Massachusetts State Police, as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Although the cause of the accident is still under investigation, police said it appears that speed was a significant factor in the accident.
