Team Hoyt Finishes Their 25th Boston Marathon

BOSTON (CBS4) ― The team of Rick and Dick Hoyt have finished their 25th Boston Marathon just under three hours and 45 minutes.

All along the route, the father and son team were not only cheered on by spectators lining the side of the road, but the runners as well, who were giving them words of encouragement and pats on the back.

This year, Team Hoyt had a very special goal in mind. They were running to raise money for Easter Seals, the organization which provides programs for the disabled, and has supported the Hoyts over the years.

Dick, 65, faced some serious challenges before Monday's marathon. In December, he underwent knee surgery to repair and injury he sustained during a race in California. In 2003, he suffered a heart attack that forced him to sit out that year's Boston Marathon.

Monday's race adds another chapter to the story of Dick and Rick Hoyt, which started years ago when they ran a five-mile race in honor of a Westfield lacrosse player who had been paralyzed.
