(CBS4)
Legendary filmmaker Robert Altman won an honorary Oscar this year for his lifetime achievements, and now his latest achievement is about to open in local theatres.
Everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Meryl Streep is in Altman's new film "A Prairie Home Companion."
The cameras clicked-away as Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan arrived for the New York premiere of "A Prairie Home Companion." Lohan was whisked inside the theatre, but not before she could say some kind words about her co-star, Oscar legend Meryl Streep.
Lohan plays Streep's daughter in this film about the final broadcast of the longtime radio show "A Prairie Home Companion."
The ensemble cast also includes Kevin Kline, Virginia Madsen and Lily Tomlin.
The screenplay for "A Prairie Home Companion" was written by the radio show's creator Garrison Keilor. You can see the movie at local theatres starting Friday.
